Two times in the past two weeks, HOLES have opened up in I-30 bridges near Downtown Dallas.
First the bridge over Beckley on May 5th, then the bridge over I-35 on May 14.
The holes were patched up after big traffic delays and some damaged tires!
An emergency rehabilitation of I-30 was announced Thursday. It will start within weeks work that was to start late this summer. TxDot says the Downtown Dallas freeway bridges are safe, but they are about 50 years old and do have some problems. There are big plans to replace them all.
This is the main website for Project Pegasus which will reconstruct the Dallas Mixmaster, The Canyon and the Trinity River Bridges:

This is a picture of the I-30 plan which includes both of the bridges that developed holes.

It will be MANY years before these new bridges are open. What do you think about using them until then??
